Bible Quiz, a new Scripture memorization aid program, was written by Mark Waldo of Professional Computer Systems (318A Lincoln Court, Bloomingdale, IL 60108). It requires Applesoft, at least 32K of memory and one disk drive. The cost is $27.95 (plus $2 postage & handling), and it comes on an unlocked disk, permitting personal review and enhancement.
Bible Quiz was designed to be very versatile, allowing the user to create, modify, and maintain the Bible Verse Data Base. The program will manipulate the data base and quiz you with randomized questions from the selected Bible verse files. There are five formats of questions presented to you:
1. Reference... This type prints out a verse and requests the reference by book, chapter and verse.
2. Multiple Choice... You are given a reference by book, chapter, and verse and must select one of five possible subjects that the verse is about.
3. Quote a Verse... You are given a reference by book, chapter, and verse and are required to type in the entire verse.
4. Verse of Subject... You are given a book, chapter, and subject and are reqired to type in the verse.
5. Fill the Blank... A verse is quoted with four blanks in it and you are to fill in the blanks.
My impression of BIBLE QUIZ is positive. It is well organized, easy to understand, and has excellent user documentation. The last paragraph of the documentation bears quoting - it expresses the attitude of those who have contributed programs to the GRAPE library.
